Mark Zeh is the Founding Principal of Zeh Woodworking and Design Studio. He is a designer and builder of fine furniture, custom cabinets and interiors built-ins. Mark started his adventures into woodworking while a teenager working as a laborer during summer vacations, than in high school doing demolition on houses. He would watch the framers and carpenters and admire their knowledge and skill. As he learned more and went from a novice laborer to an experienced carpenter he was always looking to the next level of experience with awe.
Along the way he finished his Bachelor's degree in Business and received an MBA in Strategic Leadership while working full time as a Budget Manager in a telecommunications company. During these years his passion for wood and furniture continued to grow even stronger. He spent a number of years taking classes in cabinetmaking. Soon Mark was working part time for the instructor as well as collaborating together on work. Mark started his cabinet and renovation business working mostly weekends and nights for family and friends. Finally leaving the corporate world behind Mark took a 2 month trip to Poland to explore European furniture traditions and the modern cabinet and construction methods used today. Following his return to America he took his part time cabinet business and turned it full time focusing all of his attention on designing and building custom cabinets, furniture and interiors. However Mark felt there was more he wanted to offer his customers as well as challenge himself so he decided to return to school for his MFA degree in Furniture Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology School for American Crafts. While there he also enjoyed the opportunity teaching woodworking classes and working as a shop technician maintaining the shop and woodworking machines.
Today Mark continues to design and build custom work for clients as well as galleries domestically and internationally.
